TR32 subproject Z3: Measurement support and data processing

Since the second phase (2011) of the DFG (www.dfg.de) transregional collaborative research centre TR32 “Patterns in Soil-Vegetation-Atmosphere-Systems: Monitoring, Modelling and Data Assimilation” (tr32.uni-koeln.de), a central service project Z3 is available to homogenize the set-up, maintenance, calibration and data processing of all long-term monitoring stations that are used by several scientific subprojects at the same time. This subproject is hosted by the Agrosphere and in charge, among several other measurement techniques, of the eddy covariance flux measurements of CO2, H2O, sensible heat and momentum. All eddy covariance stations in the TR32 target area (including University partner PIs, currently 6) are serviced at weekly intervals by this project group, and their data are processed following common criteria. The number of stations includes a roving stations to enable short-term campaign measurements as well as occasional reproducibility checks of each other station.
