Research Funding for Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease

Jülich, 20 September – Scientists from Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf and Forschungszentrum Jülich are developing new methods for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research has now granted them funds totalling € 64,000. Their research work is part of the international “BiomarkAPD” project involving 70 working groups from more than 20 countries. The aim of BiomarkAPD is to provide a reliable diagnosis of Alzheimer's many years before symptoms become apparent. This includes documenting progress in drug development.
