Jülich, 6 May 2019 – Forschungszentrum Jülich is this year launching a new test system for future modular supercomputers that will be specifically designed for scientific analyses and simulations. Such supercomputers will consist of several modules that can be combined with each other as required according to the building-block principle. The first module, the DEEP-EST Cluster, was recently installed by German supercomputing provider MEGWARE at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC). Two additional modules are set to follow by the end of the year, both of which are designed for parallel computing and data analysis tasks.
