Supercell of the Crystalline Phase of GeSbTe

The sphere radius encodes the local density of states at energies scanning from -5.6 eV to the Fermi energy. The lower left corner of the cube has constant radii and shows the stoichiometry of Ge512Sb1024Te2048, a novel phase change material. Localized states at the Fermi energy appearing near vacancies contribute to the conduction properties also at low temperatures.
Results have been obtained by Alexander Thieß using KKRnano on 8192 JUGENE nodes and Paul Baumeister (visualization).
