Visual Cortex

The movie shows the 3D reconstruction of 240 serial brain section images of the vervet monkey covering the visual cortex region. The images were obtained with polarization microscopy (3D-Polarized Light Imaging, 3D-PLI), which reveals the nerve fiber architecture at microscopic scales in both deep white matter and (sub-/)cortical brain regions.
