News from HBS: IMoH2022 poster prize for Qi Ding

Physicist Qi Ding won one of two poster prizes at the "1st International Meeting on Opportunities and Challenges for Hicans - IMoH2022". "HiCANS" is the abbreviation of "high-current compact accelerator-driven neutron sources", new compact accelerator-based neutron sources designed to simplify access to neutrons and enable large universities and research centres to operate their own neutron sources. The meeting took place from 20-22 June in Bilbao, Spain.

Ding presented results of simulation studies to optimise the design of the so-called target, the component in HiCANS that releases the neutrons. Qi Ding is cooperatively supervised in the JCNS department HBS and at the Jülich Central Institute for Engineering, Electronics and Analytics - Engineering and Technology (ZEA-1) and currently doing her PhD at RWTH Aachen University.
