Video: How hydrogen can contribute to the energy transition

Dr. Patrick Preuster speaks about the opportunities offered by hydrogen technology.


Hydrogen technologies could play a decisive role in making the energy transition a success. At HI ERN, Dr. Patrick Preuster is doing research on such a technology. He is leading the research team “Process Units for Chemical Hydrogen Storage”, which also deals with the topic of LOHC, short for Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier. This organic liquid can be loaded with hydrogen, which in that way can be stored safely, transported and stored at low cost.

The video was created as one edition of a six-part series on the subject of structural change in the Rhineland. The series was shown before Jülich's end-of-year lecture in Dezember 2020.
