Multimodal Imaging in Clinical Neuroscience

The working group "Clinical Multimodal Imaging" is primarily concerned with research into individual biomarkers in order to apply individually optimised therapy for patients with psychiatric disorders and also to evaluate treatment success. The multimodal imaging team, led by Prof. Dr. Irene Neuner, collects MR, PET and EEG data, both simultaneously and individually to gain insight into the function of the human brain. A current focus area for the group is the successful implementation of EEG data collection, gathered simultaneously with MRI imaging, in the ultra high magnetic field of 9.4T. The interdisciplinary working group is positioned as a link between key technologies and innovative applications in a clinical setting.
Prof. Dr. Irene Neuner is also a senior clinical scientist in the JARA-BRAIN research alliance, which represents the bridge between clinical and scientific work. JARA-BRAIN is associated with a number of internationally recognised research projects (EU FP7 project TRIMAGE, total volume € 6 million) and currently represents a unique collaboration for the study of simultaneous trimodal imaging.
