International Conference on Neuromorphic Computing and Engineering
Do you know about neuromorphic computing? This innovative computing concept uses the functioning of the brain as a model. “Neuromorphic” means:
- learning from the brain to build AI chips
- building computers that simulate the brain
- connecting nerve cells to electronic circuits or reconstructing neurons with their synapses in electronics
The aim with neuromorphic systems is to achieve a low energy consumption. Our brain needs 20 watts, whereas a single high-performance graphics processor consumes up to 1000 watts.
Want to know more about these neuro-inspired computing architectures and methods that combine computer science, AI, neuroscience, electrical engineering, and information technology? Perhaps you might find a future field of work or a topic for your master’s thesis or doctoral project?
We are offering you a unique opportunity. An international conference will be taking place in Aachen (Eurogress) from 3-6 June 2024:
The International Conference on Neuromorphic Computing and Engineering
Join us on 3 June at 17:45 (admission from 17:30) for the panel discussion entitled “Breaking Silos, Crossing Borders, Making Waves: Interdisciplinary Challenges and Opportunities” with science journalist Dr. Arndt Reuning (moderator).
You can register here until 15 April: https://apps.fz-juelich.de/rfv/jsa2024/code
Meet the various international experts at ICNCE 2024 in the Eurogress convention centre for an interdisciplinary exchange. Admission to the panel discussion is free. For bachelor’s and master’s students, the entire conference is free on application (a limited number of grants are available). For further details, see: https://www.icnce-2024.de
Location: Aachen Eurogress, Monheimsallee 48, 52062 Aachen

FUTURE COMPUTING TECHNOLOGIES IN JÜLICH
Interactive site plan of Forschungszentrum Jülich
At Forschungszentrum Jülich, it is possible to be digitally guided around the 2.2 square kilometre campus with the help of a navigation app. Download the app to your smartphone and it will show you the shortest route to your destination.
Download in the Apple AppStore
Download in the GooglePlay Store
For visitors who do not want to download the app, there is a light version of the navigation, that can be called up and used directly in the browser. To do so, please enter the URL http://site.guide in the browser of your smartphone and activate the recording of your location (GPS).
You can also open the map in a separate browser window . The map can be rotated and zoomed and you can search for buildings and destinations using the search function.
