Head

The group designs, builds, certifies, maintains and operates complex atmospheric measuring instruments for use in the laboratory but in particular on airplanes and balloons. The latter platforms representplatforms pose high electronic and mechanical challenges due to space and weight constraints and strict certification guidelines, the latter place high electronic and mechanical requirements.
The technology group has many years of experience in the design of the corresponding components and is supported by the the Institute Workshop of the IBG as well as the Central Institutes for Mechanics and Electronics (ZEA-1 and ZEA-2).
