A living lab for future energy systems

Welcome to the Living Lab Energy Campus

In our Living Lab Energy Campus (LLEC), a scientific-technological platform for the development of highly integrated energy supply systems is being tested. This is done through adaptive and predictive control strategies in the areas of heat, electricity, chemical energy storage and mobility. For this purpose, various energy demonstrators - such as liquid and gaseous hydrogen technologies, lithium-ion batteries and photovoltaic systems - are being installed on campus and networked with each other via intelligent control programs.

Our common goal is to create an intelligent energy system that successfully integrates the issues of sustainability, economic efficiency and user comfort. The real-lab research requires accompanying measures for the conversion of our campus infrastructure and in campus operation. In addition, the whole project is accompnied by intensive user involvement and knowledge transfer.
