Blazing into a New Era of Quantum Technologies

The consortium of German Clusters of Excellence working in the field of quantum science, the Quantum Alliance, has welcomed the pioneering initiative of the German Federal Government to invest in quantum technologies as part of its economic stimulus package. Quantum technologies are extremely powerful: quantum sensors can warn about earthquakes and even strokes; quantum cryptography can provide long-term protection for our privacy; and quantum computers can revolutionize the world of computing. These technologies boast huge market potential, which is built on outstanding basic research in Germany.
