“AlgaeFlipper” Demonstrated to Research Minister

Jülich/Cologne, 24 August 2020 – A distinguished visitor on board: While in Cologne last Friday, Federal Minister of Education and Research Anja Karlizcek visited the MS Wissenschaft. In Science Year 2020/21, the exhibition ship is exploring the world of bioeconomy. During a tour on board, Dr. Holger Klose from Jülich’s subinstitute of Plant Sciences presented the “AlgaeFlipper” to the minister. It is an exhibit by the subinstitute and the Bioeconomy Science Center (BioSC), which demonstrates in a playful way the treatment of waste water by means of algae and the resulting recovery of valuable nutrients.
