Young Scientists Already Waiting in the Wings

Jülich, 26 February 2021 – Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 21st regional young scientists’ competition “Jugend forscht – Schüler experimentieren” took place in a digital format at Forschungszentrum Jülich this year. Six young scientists managed to impress the judges headed by Dr. Melanie Schürmann (competition director) even under the current conditions and were awarded first place. The winners will now go on to compete in the next round at the state level. A total of 64 children and young people participated in the event and presented 40 projects. They came from schools in Aachen, Heinsberg, Herzogenrath, Jülich, Kerpen, and Stolberg.
