Impact of Gas Supply Suspension: Web Application of Forschungszentrum Jülich Calculates Possible Embargo Scenarios

Jülich, 1 April 2022 – With the war in Ukraine, a ban on importing Russian natural gas is now being discussed. A new web application (https://no-stream.fz-juelich.de/) of Forschungszentrum Jülich now makes it possible to determine the impact of such a – complete or partial – embargo on German natural gas reserves. In a statement for the Science Media Center Germany, Dr. Leander Kotzur from the Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Techno-Economic Systems Analysis (IEK-3) describes the consequences of such an immediate gas supply suspension.
